Ventura Design scoops major international interiors award

Ventura Design has scooped a major interiors award for the design of a three-bedroom penthouse apartment in Dublin.

Awarded for the best design for a living space across Europe, Ventura picked up the ‘Living Space Europe’ prize for its design for the apartment at the Marina Village, Greystones in Dublin.

We are delighted to win this award as it recognises both the quality of our scheme design, and the furniture and furnishings we manufacture.  Ventura Design is an established supplier in the BTR market in Ireland and we are now taking this success to the UK. We know our offer of top-drawer design, our own sustainable manufacturing and local supply chains to take out risk on delivery, is really hitting the mark with developers”, said Juergen Riedel, Ventura Design’s co-founder and CEO.

The International Design & Architecture Awards are judged by the industry, including developers, interiors professionals and their customers through online voting.  The awards celebrate excellence across architecture, interior design and product design.

“Ventura Design has a unique offer to developers, with excellent design, our own manufacturing capability for furniture and furnishings, a commitment to sustainability in everything we do and short supply chains.  We know that developers want to shift to a better, more sustainable way of working with suppliers and we are working with them to create fantastic interiors that are not only attractive to tenants but also tick the boxes on sustainability,” continued Juergen.

Delivered by Ventura Design on behalf of Glenveagh Homes, the project was commended for the cohesion of the design into its environment and taking advantage of spectacular views across Bray Head and the Irish Sea.

Designed by Ventura Design’s Creative Director Arlene McIntyre, the project has bespoke furniture, joinery, soft furnishings and flooring that Ventura designed and manufactured using its own 50-strong team of master crafts people.

All of the ambient lighting and a range of accessories such as cushions, lamps and throws were also supplied from Ventura’s own range, which has been developed by the business to benefit from local supply and manufacture, specifically to increase surety of delivery deadlines.

A welcoming, calming, and tranquil interior was created to deliver a classic contemporary look that the Ventura Design is renowned for.

Ventura Design’s aim was always to take full advantage of the location and extensive vistas, so window dressings were kept simple and neutral, textiles are smooth textured and tactile, and each room feels cohesive without fighting the natural beauty that is just outside the windows

A natural division between the two rooms was created with a large bespoke built-in bookcase, which catered to both the living and dining areas of the penthouse. The functional kitchen was given a smart Scandi look and the colours were all chosen throughout to complement and flow. The aim was to ensure that the rooms ‘flowed’ effortlessly and provided a space that was both luxurious and timeless for the new owner.

Ventura Design has recently launched a new website specifically for BTR developers: https://ventura.ie/contract/.
