Get to know SWA member, Perla Windows

As Perla Windows approaches its first anniversary as a Steel Window Association member, Lauren Murphy of Taylor Alden speaks to Nick Vassilopoulos, Director of Perla Windows to get to know him better.

How long have you been a member of the SWA?

Just under a year – time is flying!

What is the most exciting or interesting project you’ve worked on?

It has to be when we worked on a sheep farm.

What is a typical day like at Perla Windows?

Like most jobs, no two days are the same. We start work at 7am – there’s four of us in the office and one who works remotely. Our team is made up of one Business Manager/Sales Director, one Sales Director who overseas pricing, one Technical Director and an Operations Manager. We also have three installation teams. We are a small, well-run team and have a wonderful synergy in the office.

Are there any challenges you’ve faced but overcome in recent years?

Like the whole country, supply chains have been an issue at times in recent years. Other slight challenges we’ve overcome have been glass quality and processes for growth.

How long have you worked at Perla Windows?

Seven years.

What was your first job?

Nothing to do with windows – it was working at Intel (computer company).

What was the best piece of advice you have been given?

Learn to listen!

Where is your dream holiday destination?

Southern Spain!

Tipple of choice?

Tequila, definitely.

If you had to choose another career, what would it be?

Probably a garden designer.
