Crittall engineering enhances Uni’s engineering campus

A major redevelopment project at the University of Leeds features Crittall windows in a prestigious setting. The new Sir William Henry Bragg Building, named after a Nobel physics laureate, is a £96million project that provides a home for the University’s Integrated Campus Engineering and Physical Sciences or ICEPS.

The seven-storey new development is fronted by the refurbished and transformed 1930s vintage Old Mining Building. The Portland Stone façade of the Grade II listed structure has been retained and an additional floor created.

Crittall Corporate W20 windows were installed in the original building which acts as a main entrance to the new spaces created behind it housing state-of-the art technology and scientific equipment in laboratories and teaching rooms.

The entire building has received an Excellent grading for its sustainability from the BREEAM independent energy assessor.
