The Symington Building

Harborough District Council has for some years been co-located with the local library and town museum in a historic town centre building owned by the local authority. Following a series of efficiency savings, only half the office space was under occupation and £1.74 million of repairs were required to bring the building up to standard. Consultation with residents and partners found people wanted to preserve the council’s town centre presence to keep  services accessible and retain the spending power of the council’s workforce in the town centre.
