There’s room to grow at Kirk’s Paddock

Boasting a vibrant community and family-friendly homes, Redrow’s Kirk’s Paddock venture in Grimsby was the ideal choice for Helen and Kristien Logan Brown.

The development had been recommended to the couple by someone Kristien had gone to school with and, as soon as they took a look, they knew it was the perfect place to raise a family.

Helen, 25, explained:

“We fell in love with the community feel straight away.”

“We were renting in Grimsby at the time and so we looked into using Help to Buy. It worked out that the scheme was ideal for us and we found the independent mortgage expert that Redrow put us in touch with was really helpful.”

The first time buyers went for a ‘Broadway’ house design, which boasts three bedrooms, a kitchen / dining room and a separate lounge.

She added:

“The exterior look of the Broadway is lovely and the interior is perfect for our circumstances as we’re now expecting a baby. This style home will give our new family plenty of space.”

Additionally, the journey into work for both Helen and Kristien has improved as both work in the town centre; Helen as a data processor and Kristien, who’s 38, as a baker.

“My drive into work is really easy. Kristien likes to cycle to work and that only takes about 20 minutes so it’s perfectly placed for both of us. What’s more, our bills have gone down as our new home is much more energy efficient than our previous rented property.”

Redrow homes are more energy efficient than older counterparts thanks to the use of high quality insulation materials, low energy boilers and ventilation systems, alongside good quality double glazing and improved air tightness. And, with lighting making up 20% of the energy bill in an average house according to figures from the Energy Saving Trust, it’s a bonus that Redrow’s homes are all fitted with low energy light fittings.

There are now more energy efficient, family-friendly homes on release at Kirk’s Paddock. Current availability includes three and four-bedroom designs from as little as £139,950. They all hail from Redrow’s sought-after New Heritage Collection and marry a traditional Arts and Crafts architectural design with contemporary, 21st century interiors.

One of the new releases is the ‘Warwick’. Priced at £164,950 it boasts an open plan kitchen / dining room, as well as a separate lounge, so there is plenty of room to relax for all the family. Two of the three bedrooms are spacious doubles and the master boasts an en suite. More ‘Broadways’, like the property chosen by Helen and Kristian, are coming soon.

The Help to Buy scheme the couple used allows purchasers to take out an equity loan for 20% of the purchase price, reducing the initial outlay and meaning that they should only need a 5% deposit.
