Tata Technologies has appointed BAM Construction as a contractor to develop its £20 million European headquarters in Leamington Spa, Warwick.
BAM is commencing on site this month to create the 63,000 ft² office building that will house around 600 staff focused on emerging vehicle technologies and forming part of Tata Technologies’ commitment to the UK as part of its continuing growth strategy.
BAM’s Construction Director Barrie Addison said:
“Across the UK BAM has become known for its work on signature headquarters buildings, many of them for blue chip clients like Tata Technologies.
“That’s a prestigious market to be working in, and we are delighted to have a chance to work with Tata Technologies which is at the cutting edge of technology to create the vehicles of the future.”
BAM will create the curtain-walled three-storey steel-framed building on a 3.85 acre greenfield site to house Tata Technologies’ engineering support services, research and development centre.
Nick Sale, the Chief Operating Officer of Tata Technologies Europe, praised BAM’s ”excellent proven track record of delivering high-profile projects for high-profile clients”. He said:
“The development marks an exciting new chapter in the company’s support of engineering excellence across the region and will create an additional 200 job opportunities at all levels, from graduate to senior roles.”
Designed by architects Webb Gray, the building will take the form of two wings with a central core and include the use of natural stone.
Around 150 people are expected to work on the construction.
