Schöck Group appoints new CEO

Taking up a new position that places you in overall responsibility of the 202 million euro turnover of the international Schöck Group and particularly during a major pandemic, is undoubtedly a significant challenge. But it by no means seems to have phased Michael Bucher, who in mid-April succeeded Alfons Hörmann, following his decision to pursue a new career in local politics. Bucher, who is 41, assumed the position of CEO of Schöck AG and at the same time chairman of the management board of Schöck Bauteile GmbH. With over 20 years experience in major construction supply companies, Mike Bucher will focus on the strategic direction of national and international sales and marketing for the entire Schöck group.

More immediately, during these difficult times, his priorites have been to ensure continuity of supply and a dependable customer service to all of Schöcks traditional markets. The logistics of this have been extremely succesful, underpinned by the fact that with careful planning, the Schöck manufacturing facilities have been able to remain open throughout. Looking to the future Mike Bucher is excited by the opportunities: “With our core competencies such as thermal insulation for load-bearing components and acoustic sound insulation; as well as the newly developed market segment of fastening systems for facades, the focus remains on offering our customers and partners innovative solutions and added value at every opportunity. Schöck continues to be an extremely exciting company in the international construction industry and I very much look forward to playing my part in helping to shape its future”.
