Resolution Property signs US celebrity gym for Alphabeta

US gym chain Barry’s Bootcamp is the latest tenant to take ground floor space at Resolution Property’s Alphabeta building in London’s Shoreditch.

The 240,000-sq-ft Alphabeta building is a substantial restoration and reformatting of the former Triton Court, between Worship Street, Shoreditch and Finsbury Square in the City, aimed at digital and creative sector occupiers. It features 20,000 sq ft of ground floor retail and leisure space, beneath 220,000 sq ft of offices.

Resolution retained east London-based CF Commercial to help attract artisan retail and leisure operators which would reflect the individuality of the development and its catchment.

Voted best celebrity workout by Allure Magazine and the LA Times, Barry’s Bootcamp, a favourite of Victoria Beckham and Kim Kardashian, offers group fitness sessions and pay as you go classes amidst night club lighting and celebrity lookalike trainers. Barry’s Bootcamp will lease 5,120 sq ft on a 10 year lease. It will join Modern Pantry, Anna Hansen’s critically-acclaimed restaurant, which signed to take space at Alphabeta earlier this year.

CF Commercial advised on the signings. The company has been helping shape an attractive and independent-led retail offer designed to appeal to young professionals and businesses who prefer alternatives to mainstream retailers and coffee shops.

Jacob Loftus at Resolution said:

“Alphabeta is an exciting development located in the heart of what is fast becoming Europe’s leading centre for digital and creative innovation. The building’s young, talented catchment population is demanding more than standard chain outlets so it’s essential to achieve the right combination for our retail and leisure offer. Barry’s Boot Camp will be great addition to the mix.”

Craig Fisher, director of CF Commercial, said:

“Sitting at the confluence of two of London’s most important business districts – one established, one up and coming – Alphabeta needs a retail space that reflects the diversity and vibrancy of the office occupiers it wishes to attract, and helps to bridge the gap between City and Shoreditch.”

Sandy Macaskill, Co-owner of Barry’s Bootcamp London, said:

“Alphabeta is a great building for us. It’s distinctive and very individual, located in one of London’s fast growing and really exciting working and lifestyle locations.”

Alphabeta is part of Resolution’s UK creative offices portfolio, which also includes Ampersand in Soho, Dept.W in Whitechapel and potential future development at Great Northern in Manchester.
