Redrow highly commended for apprenticeship commitment

Leading housebuilder Redrow has been highly commended at the West Midlands Apprenticeship Awards this week.

Redrow – which operates across England and Wales but has its Learning and Development headquarters in Tamworth – was highly commended in the Apprentice Employer of the Year (large employer) category of the regional awards, which are a precursor to the annual National Apprenticeship Awards 2016.

The National Apprenticeship Awards recognise the achievements of extraordinary apprentices and the businesses that employ them. It’s another year of success for Redrow at the West Midlands regional ceremony, held this week at Sketchley Grange Hotel in North Warwickshire, as the housebuilder won the Apprentice Employer of the Year accolade in 2015.

Clare Horton, new entrant programmes manager at Redrow, said:

“As a leading housebuilder, we are firmly committed to ensuring a skilled workforce for the future of the industry by giving people opportunities to develop new skills.

“We’re very proud to gain further recognition today thanks to the strength of our apprenticeship programme offering and innovative training and mentoring methods.”

Redrow has one of the industry’s best records for training and developing its staff and around 15 per cent of its 2,000 employees are trainees, including apprentices, graduate trainees and others on formal training programmes.
