A prime development opportunity near Gleneagles – home of The 2014 Ryder Cup – has gone on sale in Auchterarder.
Identified by the Auchterarder Retail Study as a potential supermarket site, the former Rosebank Depot would be suitable for a range of uses including residential, commercial, community and educational.
The five-star Gleneagles Hotel, which will host this year’s Ryder Cup, is located less than three miles away, with Perth and Stirling 14 and 20 miles away respectively.
The site, which extends to 0.29 hectares (0.7 acres), is adjacent to the Kirkton Residential Expansion area and is being brought to market by JLL on behalf of Perth & Kinross Council.
Nina Stobie, JLL, said:
“This is a great time for developers to invest in Auchterarder as the area is currently experiencing a growth in population.
“The residential expansion, combined with close proximity to the main street in Auchterarder, make the location ideal for a retail development.
“It also boasts enviable transport connections, with direct frontage onto A824 Feus and the A9 trunk road easily accessible.”
Glasgow and Edinburgh can both be reached within an hour by car, while nearby Gleneagles train station provides the area with strong rail links.
Auchterarder, which offers a range of quality shops, also benefits from a number of community facilities, including the Community School.
A closing date will be set in due course and interested parties are invited to contact Perth & Kinross Council’s Development Management Team on 01738 475 300.
