Ochil Timber supplied their innovative SpaceStud and SpaceJoist engineered timber system to leading developers CCG, providing offsite construction for 208 terraces, 24 flats and 5 houses for the 2014 Glasgow Commonwealth Games’ Athletes’ Village.
Completed within a remarkably short build period of 15 months, the development achieved specific design objectives, including a 60% carbon reduction on 2007 levels; an EcoHomes “Excellent” rating; and complied with 2013 building regulations – an industry first.
Ochil’s MD Andrew McAree commented:
“The SpaceStud system provided CCG with a high performance, low carbon, offsite system, enabling speedy, high quality construction. We are all delighted at how well it delivered on site and continues to deliver as legacy housing for the people of Glasgow.”
