An organisation fighting homelessness is celebrating after being awarded a £1,000 donation from a leading national housebuilder.
Tribal Trust, based in Great Yarmouth, is the latest recipient of a Community Champions donation from Persimmon Homes Anglia.
The national match-funding scheme seeks to support groups and charities working to improve the quality of life or environment across the region.
Andrew Fuller, managing director of Persimmon Homes Anglia, said:
“Our Community Champions scheme supports the voluntary groups and organisations that make life better for everyone in the areas where we are creating new homes.
“Tribal Trust is providing a vital service to the local community and making a real difference to people’s lives.
“They do incredible work throughout Great Yarmouth and it’s a privilege to name them as our latest Community Champions.”
Tribal Trust provides a range of services – including food, warm clothing and toiletries as well as an informal outreach service – to help make a difference to those living on the streets.
The match funding donation from Persimmon Homes will help to keep the group’s soup kitchen and family hamper supplies well stocked.
Community Champions invites local groups and charities to bid for cash, with two donations of up to £1,000 being made locally each month.
Persimmon has also recently launched a further funding programme – Building Futures – which focuses on support for people aged under 18 in the categories of sport, education and health.
