Norcros Adhesives has demonstrated that its products are able to meet the most demanding goals, which is why the company now has an exclusive arrangement with Barratt Homes – the UK’s number one housebuilder – on its entire range of tile adhesives.
The new Barratts agreement followed successful trials using Norcros Pro-Gyp Base Fast Track Sealer on the prestigious Sugar Quay development in London. Norcros Pro-Gyp Base Fast Track Sealer allows fast track fixing to anhydrite screeds. This product is a system solution which enables tiling to be carried out on to anhydrite screeds at a much higher humidity level (95 per cent) than the standard requirement of 75 per cent RH, which can generally be achieved within seven days of laying the screed instead of the standard minimum requirement of 60 days for a 50mm thick screed.
Norcros Adhesives also offers one of the widest ranges of levellers available on the market, which are of interest to housebuilders, since any newly-laid or screeded floor is likely to need levelling to reduce height variances.
As part of its one-stop shop to cover all stages of the flooring or tiling process in house construction, the full range of levellers from Norcros Adhesives includes products for different applications. Norcros Pro 30 Fast Track Eco Levelling Compound is the newest addition to the range and contains recycled crushed glass, replacing quarried sand. It is suitable for a large number of different substrates.
Norcros Pro 30 Fast Track Eco can be used for encapsulating under-tile heating mats and cables, protecting the heating elements during the tile-fixing process as well as providing a level surface for tiling. It is suitable for use on timber floors which have been overlaid with 15-18mm WBP or marine-grade plywood.
Other products in the levellers range include: Norcros Pro 50 Levelling Compound, a single part, fibre-reinforced self-smoothing floor underlayment; Norcros Pro 10 Levelling Compound, a single part polymer modified self-smoothing floor levelling compound; Norcros 2-Part Levelling Compound, which can be used from feather edge to 10mm in one application without the need for additional granite chippings; Norcros Pro 10+ Levelling Compound, a pumpable polymer-modified cementitious single part floor leveller, suitable for use up to 10mm in one application.
The Norcros Adhesives range for housebuilders also includes bespoke tile backer boards, which fully meet the requirements of British Standards, now that direct tiling to plywood has been ruled out as an option for bathroom and wetroom wall tiling in the latest revision to BS5385-1:2018.
