The Marble & Granite Centre Ltd (MGCL) will be showcasing its revolutionary new hard surface material Lapitec at Ecobuild, ExCel, London from 4th – 6th March 2014.
The Marble & Granite Centre team will be in the StoneZone, stand S1366/67 throughout the show. They will be meeting Architects, Builders and Contractors to explain the benefit of using Lapitec as an innovative, sustainable sintered stone product in building and design projects.
Stephen Pike, MGCL Managing Director commented:
“Lapitec sintered stone is a completely new hard surface material, manufactured using renewable energy thanks to the 13,000 m2 of solar panels fitted to the roof of Lapitec’s headquarters in Vedelago, Italy and unlike other man-made stone products, no resin or other raw material obtained through petroleum processing is used in its manufacture. This is an important point, the absence of resin in the product makes it heat resistant, great for work tops, fire surrounds and as an attractive hard surface over underfloor heating – functional, beautiful and sustainable.
“The large, lightweight Lapitec panels can also be used as cladding for ventilated facades – these offer improved thermal insulation compared to other available cladding products. Lapitec is also inert and does not release any substance into the environment, it can be recycled as aggregate when scrapped or disposed of with no harmful effects.
“Lapitec’s numerous features and benefits make it an incredibly versatile product, being full bodied it is highly workable and application opportunities are endless, making it an Architect or Designer’s dream.”
MGCL, one of the UK’s leading stone wholesalers, signed an exclusive UK distributor agreement with Italian producers Lapitec in August 2013. The Marble & Granite Centre will market, supply and provide after-sales care for Lapitec throughout the UK.
