Land wanted to meet demand for new homes in Flintshire

The success of a now completed housing development near Mold has prompted a homebuilder to seek new land opportunities in the area which add value to the heart of a community.

Elan Homes achieved a sell-out success at its Argoed Gardens development, with the area proving popular with commuters to Chester and Mold.

Located on Main Road, in Argoed, the new homes attracted a mix of families and young professionals, thanks to the neighbouring picturesque countryside, wider connectivity and local community.

Now the company, which has local sites in Kinnerton and nearby Cheshire, is keen to acquire additional land with development potential, to help address the wider housing shortage.

Philip Palmer, land director for Elan Homes in the North, said:

“With a proven track record, offering a product range to meet demand from first time buyers, to  those looking for executive family homes, Elan has successfully delivered high quality developments across Flintshire

“Our homes have proven to be very popular with buyers, and we continue to receive enquiries from customers who missed out, once a development is completed.

“In order to meet this pent up demand we are always looking for opportunities to buy land in excellent residential locations like Mold, where we can explore the local housing market and tailor our development offering to fit the needs of local buyers.”

At Argoed Gardens, Elan transformed the site of a former service station into a development of 24 homes in a choice of three and four-bedroom designs.

Along with the new homes, the company agreed to contribute more than £135,000 towards local education, to be shared between Ysgol Mynydd Isa and Argoed High School. The homebuilder is also financing enhancements to the play area on Clwyd Crescent.

“Argoed Gardens is a prime example of Elan bringing a redundant site back into good use for the benefit of the wider community,” Philip explained.

“Elan will consider brownfield and greenfield sites opportunities with a variety of existing uses, with or without an existing planning permission.  We can work with landowners to navigate through the complexities of the planning process and create homes which complement the area whilst adding value to a community.”
