Foamglas brings CPD total to eight

FOAMGLAS® has brought the number of its RIBA-certified CPD presentations to eight with the introduction of ‘Reducing thermal bridging’ and ‘Load-bearing conditions’, both focussing on use of cellular glass insulation.

Elimination of thermal bridges is essential where elements of the building penetrate its insulated fabric or where the structure penetrates the building envelope.

Similarly, load bearing insulation must resist compression, deflection and movement in order to provide ongoing continuity of insulation.

The EN826 test method for compressive strength of insulations allows for approximately 10 per cent compression before the declared strength is recorded but FOAMGLAS insulation will neither compress nor degrade.
