The finest architecture, interior design and residential and commercial developments to grace the landscape of the UK in recent and future years were announced in London last Friday. The UK’s leading developers, architects, interior designers and real estate agents gathered at the Grosvenor House Hotel on October 18th to hear the long-anticipated results of the UK Property Awards sponsored by Gaggenau. In association with the International Property Awards sponsored by Virgin Atlantic, 176 awards were bestowed upon 109 companies from 45 counties during a glittering gala and awards ceremony.

Awards were given out for the UK’s most impressive developments, architecture and interior design for a variety of property types, including leisure facilities, shopping centres, high-rises, public service buildings, office complexes, and multiple and single residences. In addition to honouring the most innovative and attractive properties, a number of awards were bestowed upon the region’s best estate agencies, property consultants, lettings agencies and industry websites and marketing campaigns. Lord Bates, Deputy Speaker of the House of Lords, presented each winning company with special plaques during the awards ceremony. Each company was announced as either a ‘Highly Commended’ or ‘5-Star’ winner.
The 5-Star winners were placed under further examination and just one from each category was named a regional UK winner at the close of the awards gala. The regional winners, also known as ‘International Nominees,’ will go on to compete in the International Property Awards, which will be hosted in London at the Grosvenor House Hotel on December 6th. They will compete against other regional winners from Asia, Africa, the Middle East, Europe and the Americas to find the ultimate World’s Best in each category.

The UK is the third completed region in the 2013 International Property Awards, following the events of the Asia Pacific region hosted last May in Kuala Lumpur and the European awards hosted in London in September.
Stuart Shield, president of the International Property Awards, said:
“As the International Property Awards offices are based in the UK, we take a personal interest in seeing how our region performs. Our 20th anniversary of the UK Property Awards did not disappoint. It was an honour to meet the best and brightest property professionals right here in our own back garden who are changing our towns and cities for the better.”
The UK Property Awards are part of the long established International Property Awards, the world’s richest competition when measured by the value of the projects entered. The award winners’ logo is recognised as a symbol of excellence throughout the global industry. The awards rank amongst the most prestigious commendations in the residential and commercial property industries. Participants enter representing their country and have the chance to win at a national, regional, or international level. A high-calibre jury of international experts identifies the most significant building projects as well as the highest quality UK estate agencies.
The judging panel consists of approximately 70 professionals including Andrew Panting, Director of Operations for the British Property Federation, Peter Bolton King, Global Residential Director of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS); and Christian Morris, Director / Owner of architectural firm Yotomo Ltd.
