Cricket club bowled over by support from Redrow

Fundraisers at Redrow hope to give Barton Seagrave Cricket Club a run for their money.

Staff from the homebuilder’s Northampton based South Midlands business are out to prove they’re good sports by playing a charity cricket match Sunday August 31.

They stepped up to the wicket to help raise funds for the cricket club and for Redrow’s charity of the year CLIC Sargent.

From 11am to 5pm the club on Barton Road, Barton Seagrave will host a match against a Redrow team. Admission is free, but there will be stalls and other activities including a bouncy castle, barbecue and tombola with proceeds being shared between the two causes.

James Marriott, from Barton Seagrave Cricket Club, says:

“We were bowled over when Redrow offered to help us level our playing area by giving us excess soil from their site and so when we heard they had a charity appeal of their own we were happy to team up with them and hold a joint event. We will be using our share of the money raised to help improve the facilities at the club.”

While the facilities at the club are in need of upgrading, those who buy a Redrow home at Castle Fields or River View won’t have to worry about repairs or renovations. They’ll benefit from owning a home that boasts the charm and character of a period property with the style and convenience of being brand new.

Tonia Tyler, sales director for Redrow Homes (South Midlands), says:

“At Redrow we don’t just build homes, we want to play an active part in the communities in which we operate. We’re looking forward to taking on the challenge of the cricket match and regardless of the score the winners will be CLIC Sargent and the cricket club.”

To join in the fun, head along to Barton Seagrave Cricket Club from 11am to 5pm Sunday August 31.

Showhomes at River View and Castle Fields at Barton Park are open daily from 10am to 5.30pm.
