Couple find their ever after home

It had to be new for Giorgio and Pauline Gerosa when looking for a home they could retire to and Davington Park in Faversham ticked all the right boxes for the couple.

Giorgio and Pauline searched far and wide, initially moving from their London home to an apartment in Folkestone before relocating to Faversham.

Ease of maintenance and easy access to Europe were among the factors high on their wish list, along with lots of space as the semi-retired couple both work from home bringing students to England to study.

The couple are so happy with their new home that they would award Redrow a gold medal for customer service.

Pauline explained:

“We have bought and sold quite a few homes in our time, including refurbishing several properties, and decided we didn’t want to go through that again for our last move to our ever after home.”

After visiting estate agents and looking online, Giorgio and Pauline visited Redrow’s Davington Park development in Faversham, where they went on to buy a four-bedroom York style property.

Pauline said:

“Looking to the future, we were attracted by the eco-friendly construction of the York which should help reduce our carbon footprint as well as keeping our fuel bills manageable.”

She added:

“Redrow were very supportive, especially Marianne Stone, Rachel Stageman and Marc Smith who were fantastic and helped us feel very welcome in our new home. I would give Marianne Stone a gold medal for customer service.”

“The demonstration before we moved in was really helpful as it gave us lots of information about the property including how well insulated it is.”

Pauline describes their four-bedroom home, which is set out over three floors, as having a good layout with well-thought out space.

To the ground floor, the property features an open plan kitchen and dining room with French doors that open onto the rear garden, a relaxing lounge to the front, plus laundry area and cloakroom

Three bedrooms and the family bathroom are on the first floor. The crowning glory of the property is the master bedroom and en-suite on the top floor. Pauline said:

“We love the house. We’re extremely happy with the specification and the quality of the fixtures and fittings.”

“In fact we liked the wardrobes that were fitted in the master bedroom so much that we’ve had them installed in two other bedrooms. If we’d had to go elsewhere we would have had to pay a lot more for a similar specification.”

All of the homes at Davington Park have now sold, but there are still a few properties available at nearby Davington Mews, where prices start from £284,995.

Trains from nearby Faversham station offer a link to Ebbsfleet International and Eurostar services; while the Eurotunnel terminal at Folkestone is less than 45 minutes away and Gatwick airport can reached in just over an hour for flights to the continent and beyond.
