Construction charity welcomes Mott MacDonald as Patron Partner

CRASH, the property and construction industry’s charity for homeless people, has expanded their support base by welcoming a new patron partner, Mott MacDonald.

The buildings division of the global management, engineering and development consultancy joins an elite group of organisations that achieve measureable corporate community investment through direct involvement with homelessness projects.

Mott MacDonald employees will benefit from meaningful and impactful volunteering along with exclusive industry networking opportunities.

Ken Norbury from Mott MacDonald said:

“We are delighted and proud to support this worthy cause and are looking forward to supporting CRASH  throughout 2015.”

CRASH focuses on improving buildings that offer help and shelter to homeless people across the UK by providing professional expertise, supplying free materials and awarding cash grants.

The charity encourages its patron companies to get directly involved matching their expertise to the needs of a particular homelessness project. This unique, practical approach means that vital renovations and developments of emergency night shelters, day centres and hostels can be carried out to a high standard.

As a result of sponsorship and donations, safe, sustainable and welcoming places are created where vulnerable people can seek help.

CRASH helps an average of 85 homelessness charities a year, resulting in thousands of people not having to sleep rough on streets throughout the UK.

“We are delighted to welcome Mott MacDonald to CRASH,” said CRASH Chief Executive Francesca Roberts.  “Patron partners are the life blood of the charity and we could not continue to respond to the requests for we receive for help without their support.”

CRASH is a unique, practical charity addressing the issues of homelessness by harnessing the skills, products and goodwill of the construction and property industry. We act as the conduit between the industry and homelessness agencies to help improve emergency night shelters, hostels, day centres and move-on accommodation.

CRASH does this in three ways:

  • Providing pro-bono professional expertise
  • Sourcing building materials free of charge
  • Awarding cash grants

CRASH receives no government funding and is entirely supported by Patron companies from the construction and property industry.  This illustrates just how important Mott MacDonald’s support of the charity is and we look forward to working with you all in the coming year.

The partnership Mott MacDonald has with CRASH offers you the opportunity to be instrumental in delivering improved accommodation to homeless people.  And not just through donating money, we can enable you to use your skills and capabilities to provide a service which, in many cases, money can’t buy.

This collaborative approach has been recognised by the Prime Minister with a Big Society Award. Prime Minister David Cameron said:

“The innovative approach CRASH takes harnesses the world-class skills and products of our construction industry to tackle the issue of homelessness.  This Big Society Award recognises the remarkable achievements of everyone involved.”
