Yorkshire housebuilder Avant Homes has acquired a 17.5-acre parcel of land in Wakefield, where it plans to deliver 224 high-quality new homes, as part of the wider City Fields development.
Located just off the A6154 and close to the M1, proposals for the £60m development, which was formerly a power station, include a selection of two, three and four-bedroom homes.
The housing design mix will vary across Avant Homes’ Original housetype range and its new Bridge range, which has been specifically designed to bridge the market for aspirational and attainable homes, offering greater choice and wider affordability to buyers.
Subject to planning permission, work is set to commence in July with the overall build expected to take three-and-a-half years. The show village will be completed by August and the first properties ready for occupation towards the end of 2019.
The development will take the number of sites currently under construction by Avant Homes in the region to 15 and will be the housebuilder’s largest to date in Wakefield. Avant Homes’ previous developments in Wakefield include The Gateway in the north east of the city and Redwood in the nearby village of Crigglestone.
