Alister Smith elected Vice Chair of CEDIA Region 1 Board

CEDIA (the Custom Electronic Design and Installation Association) has revealed that board member Alister Smith, Managing Director at London-based integration firm, DLUK, is the new Vice Chair of its volunteer Board of Directors.

Alister joined CEDIA’s volunteer Board of Directors in January 2014, and will be filling the shoes of Kris Hogg who stepped up to take the position of Chair at the same time. As Vice Chair, Alister will provide important support and advice for Kris as he leads the Board in representing the custom installation industry throughout Region 1 (the UK, Europe, Russia and the CIS, Middle East, India, Pakistan and Africa).

Wendy Griffiths, Director of CEDIA Region 1 said:

“We are pleased to welcome Alister to the Board as Vice Chair. We’re experiencing a healthy and steady growth not only as a membership body, but also as an industry and we look forward to building on this momentum over the next year with the help and effort of Alister, Kris and the rest of our volunteer Board of Directors.”

Alister said:

“With such a strong board currently in place, I am thoroughly delighted to have been nominated as Vice Chair for CEDIA Region 1. When I was first elected onto the board, I stated that I intended to support the region in their mission to develop & encourage high standards within the market place. A message I stand by still. With our industry continuing to evolve at such a fast pace, CEDIA must now ensure that it develops into brand with core strengths, with a view to becoming a figure of real authority in the future.”

Based in London, DLUK is a leading systems integrator based and operates throughout the UK and continental Europe. The company offers a complete range of residential AV and integrated technology solutions including home cinemas, distributed audio and video, as well as data networks, energy management, lighting control and security solutions.

Alongside Kris and Alister, the full volunteer CEDIA Board of Directors includes Krystian Zajac of Andrew Lucas, Elliott Hicks of Complete Home Control, Will Brocklebank of Face to Face Digital, Omar Hikal of Archimedia, Laura Neuwirth Lazzerini of Studio LGL, Tom Butler of Artcoustic, Hamish Neale from Leaf Audio and Gary Lewis of Cornflake and past CEDIA chair.
