Barratt Homes sets its sights on East Lothian

Two new developments, which bring a total of 405 new homes to East Lothian, have now been launched by five star house builder Barratt Homes.

The two sites, one in Prestonpans and the other in Wallyford, just outside Musselburgh, are the builder’s first in East Lothian in over five years.

Preston Square, located in the West of Prestonpans, will bring a mix of 160 well-designed three and four bedroom family homes to market. Set to be released throughout the next three years, the properties are designed to help address the Lothians’ housing demand, particularly for young families and those looking for their first home.

Current availability includes the four bedroom detached Dunbar. From £295,995 this property features well-proportioned kitchen and dining room with French doors to the rear garden, spacious lounge, integral single garage and four double bedrooms.

Homes are also available to reserve at Barratt Homes’ St Clements Wells development, in North Wallyford. A total of 245 new three and four bedroom homes are designed to suit growing families and are well positioned to take advantage of excellent transport links to Edinburgh. Homes will be released throughout the next five years.

Homes available to reserve include the Wemyss house type which starts from £201,995. Perfectly designed for first time buyers or small families, this mid terraced, three bedroom property includes a kitchen with dining area which benefits from lots of natural light thanks to a door to the rear garden, a separate lounge, one single bedroom and two double bedrooms upstairs.

Anne Ross, sales director for Barratt Homes said:

“Just ten miles or less from Edinburgh city centre, our new developments in Prestonpans and Wallyford offer the best of both worlds, with easy access to the city but with a real coastal town atmosphere for those looking to be part of a vibrant community.

“Our homes are excellent value for money. And with a range of properties to suit all budgets and requirements, those who were considering a move to the area, or indeed thinking about purchasing their first home, should stop by and speak to our sales advisors to find out more.”

Prestonpans and Wallyford have a number of top attractions on their doorstep including one of Scotland’s oldest golf courses, the Royal Musselburgh Golf Club, and Prestongrange Museum, which delves into the history of the town’s mining past.

Nearby is Fort Kinnaird shopping centre with restaurants and a cinema, while both towns are within easy reach of the great outdoors, with the John Muir Way within walking distance of each.
